**Items Required:**

1. one or two spoons of Rice

2. one or two spoons of Puffed Rice

3. One Small Bowl

4. Water

**Experiment:**

1. Take the bowl and fill 3/4 of it with water.

2. Put the rice in it. Observe what happens to the rice.

3. Now put the puffed rice also into the bowl. Again, observe what happens.

**Observation:**

We can see that the Puffed Rice floats on the water but regular Rice sinks to the bottom of the bowl.

**Conclusion:**

Rice sank to the bottom since its mass is higher compared to its surface area.

Puffed Rice floats because its surface area is higher compared to its mass.

So Whenever Surface area of an object is higher compared to its mass it can float easily.
